Background: Governor David Nweze Umahi's brother, Austin Umahi, was the winner of the 1st primary, acting as place-holder for his elder brother, Governor Umahi; after his presidential bid, his brother withdrew, a 2nd primary declared Umahi the winner, Ann Agom-Eze says she was the real winner, citing the 2022 electoral act and other things, Agom-Eze was recognised by INEC as the candidate, Governor Umahi challenged it, a re-run was ordered, which declared him winner. INEC has yet to say who they recognise now as the candidate. They have kept mute on the situation.
